Who handles your registration?
The GAID team handles beta requests. For questions about your registration or this notice, email contact@gaidapp.com.
What we collect and why
When you register, we store your email address, the date and time of registration, and a record of your permission to be contacted about beta access. We use these details to manage interest in the beta and contact you about access. Submitting this form does not automatically create an account in the tour guide app.
The checkbox on the registration form asks for your consent to these beta access emails. You can withdraw that permission by emailing contact@gaidapp.com.
Where your information is stored
The landing page and registration database are hosted with Cloudflare. GAID’s authorised operators can access registrations to administer the beta. Cloudflare processes information as part of providing hosting, security and database services; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of technical information and international processing.
Technical information and cookies
This landing page does not request your location or microphone, and we have not added advertising cookies or analytics trackers. Cloudflare receives technical request information, including IP addresses, as part of delivering and protecting the site. The registration endpoint uses the request IP temporarily for rate limiting; it is not stored in the beta registration table.
The example map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap when that preview enters view. OpenStreetMap receives the technical request information needed to serve those tiles. The preview uses a preset London route, not your location. See OpenStreetMap Foundation's privacy policy.
Retention and your choices
We keep beta registrations while they are needed to administer the beta programme. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your registration by contacting contact@gaidapp.com. Please use the email address you registered with so we can identify your request. We may need to confirm that you control that address before making changes.
Visiting the beta app
Following the “Open GAID” link takes you to the separate web app. That app may need location or microphone permission to provide its walking guide features. This registration notice does not describe the app’s complete handling of location, questions or audio.
